A Bold Move into the Future
Cutting edge design is our living…and now we’re living in cutting edge design.
Adstract Art’s new contemporary studio in Murphy, Richmond, makes the kind of impact we aim for in our design work, eliciting a powerful response by combining the best of function and form in an innovative design. The award-winning, architect designed studio, balances practical aspects with inspirational design, demonstrating the mixture of analytical and creative thinking that characterizes our own approach to design.
Just metres from Church Street, the three-level building creates a unique image, its form wrapped in a soaring glass skin which Architectural Review Magazine says, “transforms and dematerializes the volume of the building” and enlivens its impact on its surroundings. It is the perfect home for a busy design studio, with a large, open plan studio on the lower level, library, conference and presentation areas on the mid-level mezzanine, and offices, kitchen and a terrace on the top floor. All are flooded with sparkling natural light, an effect which is reversed and magnified at night when its internal lights make it “take on the glow of the computer screen, something it seems to refer to and often resemble,” says Architectural Review.
The ‘peanut’ screen, reflected in Adstract Art’s new corporate identity, is another feature, marking the entry to the building and creating a strong graphic element that contrasts with the lightness of the translucence of the building’s external shell. In short, Adstract Art’s new studio reflects the creativity, technology and progressive attitude that characterise our business – we look forward to welcoming you when next you visit.
